Most auto-battlers assume a lobby. Ringfort does not. You can sit down, build a fort, and fight through a ring without anyone else being online — because the opponents waiting for you are not live players.
This post is for the search that goes “single player auto battler” or “auto battler no PvP”. Here is exactly how Ringfort handles opponents today, what that buys you, and what we are not claiming.
You fight preset sim lineups, not a live lobby
In the current build, every opponent is a pre-simulated lineup bundled with the game (fictional names, items, stars, growth). When you enter a ring, the game picks lineups matched to where you are:
- Ring 1 is onboarding — the weakest lineups, so you learn the ring without getting crushed.
- From ring 2 up, difficulty tracks your power: normal opponents sit a bit under you, elites sit above you, and the number of elites rises as you climb.
- Recent opponents are avoided so you do not see the same fort twice inside one ring.
Your own lineups are stored locally only. Nothing about your run needs a network round-trip to another player.
What that means in play
You still get the async auto-battler loop: shop, place items on eight wall slots, then watch six forts fight at once. The difference is that the “snapshots” you face are offline data, not someone else’s live board from five minutes ago.
So if you wanted an auto-battler you can play on your own schedule — no lobby, no “waiting for seven strangers” — that is the design today.
What we are not saying
- We are not calling Ringfort an offline game. Do not read this as a promise that the whole client works with the network unplugged.
- We are not promising online features on a date. Real player lineups may come later; until then, the sim lineups are the product.
- Ringfort releases on Steam on November 30, 2026. The store page is live: wishlist Ringfort on Steam. Price not announced yet; launch-week discount planned.
Who this is for
If you liked Backpack Battles or Super Auto Pets for the build puzzle but bounce off live lobbies, Ringfort is aimed at that itch: a ring of six forts, two neighbours every round, and opponents that are ready whenever you are.
