Tiny Night Market

A night market above your taskbar.

Idle / desktop companion · PC (Windows)

A tiny night market lives right above your taskbar. While you work, the stalls cook, sell and grow on their own. When you have a minute, help out at the stalls, toss a few rings, fill regulars’ orders and wait for rare visitors — and watch one candied-hawthorn cart grow into a glowing street.

Trailer

How it plays

  1. An ordinary work desktop with a glowing pixel night market running along the top of the taskbar
    01

    It lives above your taskbar.

Tonight, a tiny night market opens along the bottom of your screen. Transparent background, click-through on empty space, and it goes into hiding when you watch a video or play a game in fullscreen. Adjustable size, any monitor, and a boss key.

  2. 02

    Just leave it running.

It starts with a single candied-hawthorn cart. Customers wander in, buy snacks, and the coins roll in by themselves — no restocking, no collecting, no babysitting. 12 stalls open one by one: skewers, bubble tea, ring toss, egg waffles, takoyaki, stinky tofu, goldfish scooping, a fortune teller…

  3. 03

Help out when you feel like it.

When the candied-hawthorn, skewer or bubble-tea stall gets busy, lend a hand: click the moment the heat ring turns green. Eight per round, and every perfect round makes the fire burn hotter.

  4. The ring toss minigame: a rubber duck won from the prize shelf
    04

Toss a ring, win a prize.

One click to drop the ring; every toy you win goes on your prize shelf. 36 prizes over three seasons, and steady hands unlock tougher tables with rarer prizes.

  5. A rare visitor, the Dog Walker, heading for the skewer stall
    05

    The people of the market.

Twelve regulars keep coming back — a student cramming for exams, an office worker on overtime, a grandma on her evening walk. Fill their orders, which never expire, to unlock their stories. And 20 rare visitors, from a wandering swordsman to the God of Wealth and the Moon Rabbit, find their way to the right street.

  6. 06

    It only gets livelier.

Spend Fame to light lanterns; light them all to throw a temple fair. The lion dance comes through, and fireworks go up for your 10,000th and 100,000th customer. Every visitor, prize and special goes into your collection, and the ledger keeps count.
